Lip Oil

Lip skin produces no sebum of its own. The vermilion zone has essentially no sebaceous glands, which means every molecule of surface lipid present on the lips during the day has been applied externally or transferred from adjacent facial skin.¹ A lip oil formulated with the right carriers does not just add shine. It partially restores the lipid environment the vermilion border cannot generate independently.

The Opuliss Lip Oil is built on octyldodecanol and a hydrogenated castor oil/sebacic acid copolymer base. Octyldodecanol is a long-chain fatty alcohol derived from coconut and palm sources, widely used as a skin-conditioning emollient for its ability to spread easily across a surface without occlusive weight. The hydrogenated castor oil/sebacic acid copolymer creates a lightweight, flexible film that provides structure and adherence to the formula without the heaviness of a full wax base, making it the technical distinction between a lip oil and a lipstick at the formulation level. Disteardimonium hectorite suspends the colorant payload evenly throughout the oil phase, preventing pigment separation over the product's shelf life. Candelilla wax (Euphorbia Cerifera Cera) provides light film structure, with a documented safety profile for lip application including incidental ingestion.² Silica diffuses light at the surface for a softening optical effect alongside the oil sheen.³
