Foundation covers more skin surface area for more continuous hours per day than any other cosmetic product in a routine. Research quantifying daily dermal exposure to cosmetic ingredients confirms that face makeup, specifically foundation and base products, accounts for the largest single-product contribution to cumulative topical chemical load across all cosmetic categories.¹ What a foundation carries in its base formula alongside its pigment is therefore a more consequential question than it is for any other makeup product.

The Opuliss Foundation carries niacinamide, panthenol, allantoin, hyaluronic acid, betaine, and glycerin within its first ten ingredients by concentration. Niacinamide is one of the most extensively peer-reviewed actives in cosmetic dermatology, with documented evidence for reducing transepidermal water loss, suppressing inflammatory cytokine production, and improving skin barrier integrity at concentrations between 2 and 5 percent.² Panthenol converts to pantothenic acid in the skin where it supports keratinocyte proliferation and barrier repair. Allantoin is a cell-communicating ingredient with a well-established soothing profile in compromised barrier skin. The silicone matrix, cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer, creates the skin-fitting wear layer that keeps those actives in continuous contact with the surface rather than allowing them to migrate off it during wear. Preservative system is 1,2-hexanediol and ethylhexylglycerin, both within established low-sensitization concentration ranges for leave-on face products.³ Pigment is iron oxides only across all shades, the cleanest colorant system available for a skin-contact product worn daily.
