Lip Stain

Lip stain occupies a distinct formulation category from lipstick and gloss. Where wax-based formulas deliver color through an occlusive pigment payload, stain deposits a thin, transfer-resistant film directly onto the lip surface that remains after the carrier evaporates. The clinical relevance is that the film-forming ingredients, not the pigments, spend the most continuous time in contact with lip skin throughout the day.¹

The Opuliss Lip Stain is built on cyclopentasiloxane and trimethylsiloxysilicate, a silicone resin that forms the durable, transfer-resistant film that defines stain performance. Acrylates/dimethicone copolymer reinforces film adhesion while maintaining flexibility across the mechanical movement the lips undergo during speaking and eating. Isododecane acts as a fast-evaporating carrier that deposits the silicone matrix cleanly and without residue. Aluminum starch octenylsuccinate provides oil absorption at the surface to reduce any tacky feel from the silicone film. Tocopherol (Vitamin E) is included as a lipid-soluble antioxidant, documented in peer-reviewed literature for its capacity to protect membrane lipids from oxidative degradation and to support skin barrier function through ceramide synthesis signaling.² Candelilla wax adds a light structural component. Glyceryl caprylate provides mild antimicrobial activity within the formula. Colorants are iron oxides exclusively, within EU lip area approval.³
