Primer

The function of a primer is adhesion engineering. Before any pigment is applied, the skin surface presents a dynamic, uneven landscape of sebum, cellular debris, fine surface texture, and variable pore geometry. A primer's job is to create a uniform, adhesion-compatible layer across that surface so that foundation and powder bind evenly, resist transfer, and hold their optical finish over time rather than migrating into fine lines or oxidizing at sebum-rich zones within hours of application.¹

The Opuliss Primer is formulated on a two-ingredient silicone base of cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer. This is deliberate minimalism with a clear technical rationale. Cyclopentasiloxane is a volatile silicone that spreads across the skin with near-zero surface tension, filling surface texture and creating a level substrate without adding weight or occlusive film thickness. Dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer is an elastomeric silicone that forms a breathable, flexible network over the skin surface, the same crosslinked polymer architecture used in high-performance skin-smoothing formulations across the prestige tier, with a well-characterized dermal safety profile in the peer-reviewed literature.² The absence of water, fragrance, colorants, and additional film formers is not a limitation of the formula. It is what allows the silicone matrix to perform its adhesion and leveling function without interference from competing ingredients that add complexity without adding function.³

Two ingredients. One job. The surface that makes everything applied on top of it perform better.
