Candelilla wax is a plant-derived wax approved for food and cosmetic use, with a melting point and hardness profile that makes it the standard structural choice in pencil-format lip products designed for definition rather than coverage. Shea butter (Butyrospermum Parkii) is present as an emollient softener within the wax matrix, with published anti-inflammatory evidence via COX-2 pathway inhibition that is relevant to the perioral skin it contacts daily.² Pentaerythrityl tetra-di-t-butyl hydroxyhydrocinnamate is a high-performance antioxidant that stabilizes the lipid components of the formula against oxidative degradation, extending the integrity of both the wax structure and the pigment payload.³ The colorant palette spans iron oxides, bismuth oxychloride, and organic lakes, all within EU lip area approval.
